I prefer MTV videos to newspaper videos

Remember when Friday Night Videos was rocking the musicverse? Well then you are more than 30 years old... Shoot if you tell a youngster today that MTV is all about music videos, they will look at you like you are crazy.

Reality TV is about all you will see on MTV today. I must confess that is my best guess though as I have not tuned into it since the end of the 90's.  I rarely tune into TV at all anymore. I fire it up to watch the Lions each Sunday and a spattering of other football games if they peak my interest at all. I also watch a dose of Red Wings, Pistons and the Tigers.  

The Tigers are what pushed me towards this post today. It is opening day and I wanted to check up on

what our motor city cats are up to. A quick visit to our Detroit newspapers sent me away disgruntled. The news is now filled with pop up videos! If I wanted to see a video about the Tigers, I would head to YouTube. If the videos just played when I click them it would be one thing, but they are set to play regardless of my interest level. 

I care about the Tigers, but at this point I am not willing to put up with the videos. I am also not interested in paying for the news paper. I may miss some details, but for now I am moving towards Twitter for my daily sports update. If anyone out there has a better solution for the daily Detroit sports update, share away. #DetroitVsEveryone
