Thanksgiving has passed and I will remind you that I am thankful for all the amazing students I get to work with. Of course, as we turn to the month of December we switch from thanks to wants. =)

I am always watching for new tech that would add to the learning experience for our Mod Tech classroom. The A8 3d printer was added for $150 bucks this fall, but it has a steep build curve. It also had some important parts that needed to be upgrade to reach it maximum potential. I am in the process of completing that at the moment. In a nutshell the steps allow the power source to be upgraded and passed to the heated bed more efficiently.

The Tevo Tornado shown below is the next tool I am interested in adding to our Mod Tech stable. It has a super simple build process and as you can see in the video below quite stunning results.  Currently it is available for about $450, but I anticipate it reaching a price tag around $300 in the future.
