Anything but smooth! =(

Every try to teach a tech class when you are locked out of the tech you need to use? 

It makes me more frustrated than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.  We returned from spring break yesterday and I created a sweet google sheet lesson for my students. Students arrived and upon signing in they were greeted with this ugly "your connection is not private" error. 

The issue stems from the use of the smoothwall filter system. It has a extension that is added to all our Chromebooks which keeps them where they are supposed to be. Unfortunately it also follows our profiles when kids sign into my desktops.  If you look in the top corner of the image you can see the smoothwall extension is red instead of green. 

Long story short, I have found a work around if you are having this issue in your classroom. I have added the steps to a 1 minute YouTube clip you can find at this link. I have also created a bit.ly for it. Simply type bit.ly/smoothfixhl and it will take you to the video that explains the quick fix. 

Truly hope that you do not need this info... I am honestly creating it so next time I have the issue I can find my own instructions for how to fix it. =) If you have a better strategy, feel free to share it in the comment section. Have a great day and keep rocking that tech!
